Start with your sensitive areas
Successfully moving away from chemicals for weed control requires an implementation plan
Start with your sensitive areas
When you move to Satusteam you’ll have:
No need for pesticide notification
No need to shutdown areas
No need for operators to have chemical application certification
because Satusteam© is
Safe for staff and community
Safe for endangered species
and you’ll
Enjoy community approval
Your implementation plan will target your sensitive areas
These are the socially sensitive and environmentally sensitive areas in your area such as:
Pre-schools and childcare centres, playgrounds, shopping centre precincts, children’s playing fields, dog or horse parks, hospitals and retirement villages, weedy edges to artificial surfaces, endangered species and pollinator habitat, landcare sites with volunteers, urban water filtration systems (WSUD), waterway edges, spray drift risk zones as well as potable & irrigation water catchments.
With these areas mapped, the next step is to assign presentation standards, which define the outcome required from the weed management carried out on site. I’ll elaborate in more detail about presentation standards in the next instalment of ‘Implementing a successful non-chemical weed management program’.
Price Hold Alert. Our Council Safe Weeding Trailer has a load of robust features and is the most effective and productive thermal weed control machine in it’s class. It’s also very useful for sanitising. We have put together a package deal, which includes an implementation strategy session and a substantial value offering. Registering now will allow councils to hold the price into the new financial year’s budget.
